Wet season sunshine danced golden bright on his thin coat of yellow orange, reflecting off to vanish in the cold mist that surrounded him. He was an eerie figure, walking dominantly through the layers of sun stroked mist. Confidence buoyed up his large tan paws and made him appear larger and more powerful. The illusion hovered on the brink of reality, silence encasing the creature and the mists.
He seemed at home in the mists of those woods, night still tainting the far edges of the sunrise painted sky. His presence rendered the world in a new light, throwing all those simple natural beauties into shadows as he made his way through the forest, even the rustles of the wind stopping as he glided through eternity on his path to an unknown destination. The world was crystal clear, sharp to his bright and all-revealing gaze, ever branch and leaf bending to his willpower. His paw steps were silent as they breathed across the grass-covered ground, the march of their owner unknown to any but the spirit of the plains. And this pleased him, and with his pleasure the plain relaxed slightly, on its guard but turning its attention to other happenings in the open land.
The acres of yellow and brown had felt his presence for the past minute, felt his power grow with every moment that he aged, breathing in the scent of moisture and weed blossoms. The pool was crystal blue and and the pile of rocks nearby made a sun-kissed seat. The ripples of the liquid moved as his heavy body moved onto the rock, the warmth bringing sensations through his body. Muscles relaxed on the solid object, his mouth opening for a big cat yawn. His lazy side is overcoming Azizi now, his eyes only a bit open due to the sounds from impala jumping around.

Flat paws with plump pads muffled each step the lioness took, her muscles flexed neatly under thin skin and thinner sand-gold hairs that encased her flesh and her bone. Her head hung low, her jaw was relaxed. Black lips dangled and shook with each light step of her smooth, legato jog. She was so at ease, so set free of all and any daemons that might be waiting her back home, or anywhere else, for that matter. Who knows what she would do today, or who she would encounter?
She hardly even noticed the male who lay not too far off, watching something sprint in the grass. Probably some prey which he knew better than to bother chasing, for the herbivores of the Driest Plains were agile and quick, and not even the most lithe of lionesses could catch up with the majority. She smirked at the thought - how all mighty males thought they were. In reality, when they don't lead a pride life is hard for them, and not only just slightly. the bad part? The fact that once they do, if they do, take over a pride they'll forget all about the old days, and bask in their glory.
Azizi had a large mane, and it was rather thick and black in certain areas of it. It covered his whole neck and halfway down his body, which was odd. Nor did he look tremendously wounded - and he didn't just leave a pride because he was too old to stay or something. He wasn't kicked out, either, because he seemed in perfect condition. It was odd, and it made Takiri instantly nervous and weary. But, as they say, curiosity killed the cat. Carefully, the lone pride lioness made her way to the great male, ready to run or attack. She felt her muscles tense so tightly they shook.
"What're you doing out here?" She called, feeling unsure but masked with tones of aggression. "Shouldn't a male like yourself be with a pride, or with his bachelors?" her lips curled as she spoke, purposefully revealing his long, thick canines. She must look as frightening as possible, to avoid being beaten, or chased.
ooc. ergh... kinda crappy. sorry. >.>

ic// His senses quivered as he stood at the edge of the sun-touched pool, remaining in the the shadows and darkness. Yellow, orange merged into gray as the shadows darkened his pale pelt, the cloud of mist around him reached out icy cold fingers to test the sunlight. There was only one portion of the pool that provided adequate shade to protect his eyes, a spot that he had used every morning just as he wanted to sleep for the day.
His golden eyes turned upward, glittering fondly at the form of the savanna. It was dry, rolling grassland scattered with shrubs and isolated trees. The colors looked dull, but the scenery at sunrise was beautiful. Colors wre a lilac purple, blending in with oranges and yellows of the lions that prowled on the land. The mist added a cool and chilling effect which was most acceptable. Every day the hot, humid air bothered the brute, making it unbearable. If he didn't mind water like a tiger, he would awim in it and be worry free. But, other predators lurked in those murky waters, their large, reptile teeth grabbing onto anything that moved in the blue.
A moment later, he stepped up onto the boulder high, his eyes bright and his heart beating fast. There was something here. He swung his gaze around, looking everywhere for the telltale presence that his black tipped ears had detected. Azizi did not fear the presence that would surely come with the beating heart, it was most likely a prey animal or another beast like him.
The lion male felt a smirk pull at his lips as his feline teeth slid out from the sheath that was his lips. And then the voice came. Azizi turned around to face the stranger, his auric eyes glittering. A few moments earlier, he thought he was on unmarked territory. It seems he was wrong.
Muscles tensed as he listened closley to the lioness, his mane bristling in fear though it was just a mere female. Its not only on size that wins, its on sheer numbers. There must be more nearby or why would she come forth by herself, especially against a rouge lion. It was Takiri's lucky day anyways. Azizi respects her agression tone and questions, unwilling to fight her off. He doesn't like to fight otherwise he'd be covered in scars.
"I came here on my own and thought about marking this land mine," he answered, pausing for the moment then contiuning. "But, I see that it has been already taken." His lips pulled back as he growled, his face scrunching up to impress the female with his sudden change in personality. "I am dubbed Azizi."

ooC://
I had pre-typed this a few nights ago... so, excuse the rushed ending. D=
bic://
Golden eyes gazed about momentarily, the figure halting on the spot to drink in the unfamiliar view of a new terrain. Paws had been previously hitting the earth at an impact that the figure had not cared about at all, yet now, something made the paw steps become more gentle, no sound emitting from the collision, and imprints left behind small. Eyes directed back on the set course, before the paws went back into action again. Cautious action, forced by the figure's mind. Not a usual way to traipse into a territory, yet the figure did, in fact, do so.
A dull sandy brown spot from a distance. No, a sandy blur. Yet, from up close, it was obvious what this creature really was... what this figure from far off had looked like was much different than up close. Golden eyes belonged to a young feline; no, a lion, in more exact terms. Yes, male. His fur meant to be a rich brown, with a shining pelt that reflected the light, but not anymore. From continuous wandering of the land, no matter how rough the terrain, his pelt had gathered dirt and dust, and he had not bothered to clean it off. Too lazy. Or even memories. Memories from cleaning? What could possibly lead off from that?
A mother, of course... a caring mother that cared for your existence like nothing else in the universe. As long as you were there, she would be as happy as can be, always smiling with pearly white canines showing as her lips curled in the familiar grin. When away, she would wait intently for your return, to see your face again...
This was starting to turn into more of a memory, than an answer to the question, but that was how grooming could effect his own thoughts, triggering the memory of some time ago...
He had wandered from the little den, from his mother's eye once again, only wishing to be alone for a while... not with his sibling, and an overprotective mother... Yet, as it seemed, it was not time for this, and he was soon collected up, loose skin gripped in his mother's jaw... what to gain? A purely clean pelt...
Yet the lion did not only consist of the sandy brown-flecked-with-dirt pelt. His paws were dipped in a chocolate, a dark color, which faded into a lighter brown once reaching his ankles, and this faded again into the creamy sand color.
He was a scrawny lion, standing smaller than so high. Obviously the absolute bottom of any moral or ethical standard whatsoever, his thin mane, his puny body, his motions which were the only possible thing that could have motivated anyone into taking him for a weak specimen.
This lion was simply born small, born to be a tiny little guy. He was simply dubbed Kamau, the quiet warrior. As of course, he was the quieter of the litter of two he was born into. Mentally and physically behind in maturing, you could now see this guy roaming around carelessly, his muslces rippling within his very lean frame, short mane shifting in the warm, savannah breeze.
Ah, what was this?
A grasshopper? Kamau reared back onto his hinds, tail twitching to and fro as he watched the little insect perched on a rock. With a slight yell, he jumped up to catch this little creature within his massive paws. Unfortunately, it was a miss, and how comical it must have appeared to eyes watching him. A cub chasing an insect was fine, but you know, maybe seeing an adolescent doing it was a bit... too much. Soon, he wheeled himself back on top of his paws, trudging forward.
His were still directed closely on the path he had chosen to take, weaving his way through confusing ways, instead of going purely straight. Paws halted abruptly, the lion skidding to a stop, surprised at himself. Now... there was a decision to make here... what would he choose to do? Saunter about this area for a while, and wait to be confronted? Go on, and risk an attack? Or give off a roar, to be confronted by another earlier, and saving some patience? At the moment, he was quite unsure...
The lion slumped to the ground, unaware of the two lions only yards away, paws splaying out, tassel flicking as if to try find interest in something for the time he had to wait. His emotionless golden eyes gazed about the terra, collecting every detail. Another decision appeared in his brain. Pride, or rest... But he already had a plan for that one too... one to bide him time before truly making it.
Which of course could become overly confusing.

Hmm? It was marked? By what, a miniature pride? Takiri was only interested in the big prides, not the small ones, made of two females and their cubs and the cubs' father. In any case, Yahar wasn't too much bigger, but bigger enough to be called an actual, established pride. Sometimes a single extra lion could count. Her brow raised as she considered yet another thought; perhaps this Azizi thought that she lived here. She listened to his name, and tried to silently roll the word on her tongue. Azizi. Hmm...
She must've looked so rude, just standing there, lost in her own mind. Taking her time to find her own speech again, she replied about what she knew of this land, and her own name. "I am Takiri, and as far as I know, there is no such Pride in the plains. I am of the Yahar lions, to the east of Anarakhi, far from any tigers so stupid enough as to venture out onto lions' land." She paused, to let him think about that, and for her to think about how she was going to word the rest. "And if you claim this land alone, you will draw attention to yourself. If you're alone, you will get ambushed."
She regretted that sentence the moment she'd said it. Only a minute or so later, she scented another lion. And it was definitely a lion, and not an 'ess. Takiri felt herself fidget and look around warily, before trying to disguise the trickle of fear which crept slowly and evenly up her spine, sending tingles this way and that. Those round ears atop her round head swirled around, listening to the noises of the plains. Oh, Lord, she thought to herself, He is part of a bachelor group.
She, quite obviously, had no idea this other lion was small as her cubs, and did not know this massive lion Takiri stood before.

The male placed his paws outward, his chest reaching the ground as Azizi stretching his mighty body. His incisor like nails retracted to bare its sharpness, then retreating back in when the lion finished up. His body tensed though as he shook his sandy color pelt next, the body toning all around those slaps of muscle. Azizi remained up on the boulder high, holding his position of dominance though it didn't matter as much as before. He'd like to show off here and there of his size, his furry mane increasing Azizi's appearance, like he was a baby bull elephant that still needs to grow.
The silence made the male uneasy, his paws shifting back and forth. The sun's rays finally rose off the horizon, the golden eyes wincing at the bright intensity. He scampered down to the lioness' grounds, his black tipped ears perking at her words again. 'What a beautiful name for a lioness... Takiri.' A thought trickled down his mind, hearing on what she had to say. 'Tigers? Why would those obnoxious beasts wonder on a lions pride's land? The thoughts of the numbers would have already threaten the independent tigers.'
"Takiri. Are you saying there is no other male occupying this land? Why... how lucky for me," his tone getting confident, golden paws sweeping around the dry beads of grass. His movement was soon paused when the scent of another lion came in, this time, it was a male like him. "Damn," he cursed under his breathe, thinking the lion came to claim the name as 'King' of Yahar Pride lands. His mane bristled, nose wrinkled as his large fangs revealed their pure intentions. A low roar was sent to the adolescent male, his eyes narrowing at his presence.
"Explain yourself. Why are you here, child," Azizi asked like he owned this pride and land, insulting the adolescent by his size and weak looking mane. "Are you willing to fight, cub?"
Even though Azizi avoided brawls, his close chance of getting the pride lands just before is now melting away from the entrance of this meer, little lion. Though Kamau's size didn't threaten the massive beast that stood his ground high, growls and snarls emitted from his throat with the intrusions of loud grunts in attempt to scare the adolescent off. Maybe the male will just run. Or he'll just be stupid...

A sigh, a whimper, and a snort of complaint. The rogue uttered a grunt, annoyed at the fact that boredom had seeped into him. Oh, the joy. Yet, there were good points for not prancing around like a cub- 50% of spectators won't think you're nuts, and the other 50% will actually fear you and your powerful abilities. That could lead to a confrontation with another Lion. Kamau winced at that pessimistic thought. No, no, he couldn’t get so far as to think badly of his chances, so with another quieted sigh, the male sat up once more.
His eyes, which carried an amber coloration, had traveled to the side. Surely, there was another scent in the air, and when a roar was issued Kamau ignored his screeching muscles with effort, and let his gaze drop to the larger male's face, where the luminous light shadowed it just right, and backed up until his rump hit a larger rock.
Muttering continuously under his breath, the young bachelor straightening himself out – a looming figure with a lean frame, well-cared-for coat, a slim tail, and four thin, though well-built, legs. He wasn’t much for a male Lion, but with his speed, he doubted anyone could chase him down. And then the male spoke. Both of his ears stuck up from his fuzzy mane, making him stare in interest. Did this male think he was going to challenge him?
"What?" came his words in disbelief. Laughing outloud, he landed on his hinds, tail flicking to a fro. "I have no intentions of challenging you, old timer. Do you really think I'd bother to fight you?" He looked to the lioness, winking with a sly grin. Snorting, he yawned boredly. "Why am I here? Why, perhaps I could be willing to challenge you. Perhaps I could just be passing through. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps, I grow tired of the word."
He made sure to keep his distance, however, clever amber gaze studying Azizi and Takiri with mild interest. "You have nothing but my word to take, and quite frankly, I don't care if you think I'm really a threat." And a snort of complaint, he rolled his head back to look at the sky, trying to keep his wandering mind busy.

Takiri watched almost disgusted - how stupid, how uninteresting, how bland all they ever thought of was. She wondered lightly to herself - did Azizi wish to impress her? Hope she would join this little whatever he was deciding to make? Did she not just tell him that claiming a piece of land alone was a bad idea? Sometimes she was happy that their dominant male had died.
However, she could not lie to herself when she thought of how lucky she was that Kamau wasn't friends of any kind with Azizi - she would have had to try to fight them and run away at the same time - because if she sped off with them at her heels without attacking, she would lead them straight to what was left of the Yahar pride and their children, which was not a good idea. God, males.
She listened as they threw well-worded words at each other that she felt disgusted - it was almost as though it was rehearsed between the two, but they smelled oh so different - they knew each other not, and that was a fact. It was very confusing, very odd. And it made Takiri felt as though she was not meant to be there with them, that something was wrong. But how to leave? Just to simply take off? That wouldn't work.
"Listen," she began, anger beginning to prickle at her tongue. "You two are both idiots - there is nothing to claim in these ruins. Get over it." Her tail lashed out twice behind her to release stress and tension, as Takiri watched the two.
ooc. done, finally. xD

Black tipped ears perked forward as the adolescent male laughed, golden eyes narrowing at the young lion. Azizi didn't see anything funny, so why is the male chuckling loud enough for the whole plains to hear his voice. That tone in his words finally made the old male to understand. A growl emitted from the larger male's throat as he still listened to the male, his teeth baring at the insulting name. Lips were pulled back by his feline fangs, the tongue sliding across his maw in a murderous intent.
The sun's light continued its way to reach a high point in the heavens, adverting the males attention away from Kamua, his sudden change in personality reverting back to his calm nature. Ah. Time has passed quicker than the male thought it would, the afternoon rays washing all around the grasslands and where the three feline's were residing. His eyes twitched as the glowing orb, his mind switching back to Kamau who continued to run his mouth.
If Azizi really wanted to, he could attack him without hesitation, except, the male was smart enough to keep a well suited distance. Not having the ability to sprint with full power, the adolescent could speed off like it was a game of tag. The eyes of the lion rolled as he scoffed at the male, smirking rather large. Him? A threat? Hah. That made Azizi chuckle within his box, his throat vibrating rather loudly for being a closed mouth.
Oh. The female. He almost completely forgot that she was there. Kamau's personality made him get angered enough to shrug off any surroundings. A 'mph' was heard form Azizi, his eyes narrowing at the feline. It seems that she is getting quite agitated for two males being in her pride lands. His powerful legs turned his face towards Takiri, his low voice talking finally. "Why would I give up these ruins? I could rebuild it as mine then." He smirked at the female, wanting to see her reaction. To get rid this stubborn male, it will take alot of persistence and confidence.

Kamau was intriqued by this fiesty female, head tilted ever so slightly much like that of a confused puppy. He stared at her with curious eyes at her insult towards the both of him, and he find threw his head back, laughing out loud. His nose lowered, head shaking to and fro with his tiny mane following. "You got it all wrong, miss." Kamau chuckled, amusement dancing in his laugh. "I'm not here to claim land. I'm just passing through. Holding a territory is too much responsiblity, and where would the fun be in it?"
He flopped down onto his stomach, rolling onto his back, snuffing when a bit of dusty dirt made it up his nose. Finally, the male lion spoke up, and Kamau made it back to lieing on his sore belly, tufted-tail flopping back and forth. He laughed, but held it in, nothing but the mere shake of his shoulders revealing his amusement. "You can't rebuild them without a Pride." Kamau stated, smiling devilishly. And what if he did, how would he get a bunch of females to join and make a flourishing pride with them. "It'd all be too much work for you to handle alone."
Kamau sat back up, slumped slightly do to his lax nature. "That's why I never gave it much thought. It's no fun."

Okay, Takiri had come to a decision on what she thought of the males. The larger, older one? Yeah, he was a mess in the head. How ridiculous he was - to claim this land, and be ambushed. So, very stupid. But, the other, scrawnier male - he seemed to have sense. It pleased her to see not all males were pinheads without a single shred of intelligence. It was almost as though they were all lumbering idiots. Which, quite honestly, that dis seem to be all they were. Ever
But the relaxing atmosphere of Kamau made Takiri feel, in turn, rather anxious and nervous. A phrase shifted through her brain - 'for every action there is a completely opposite and equally strong reaction'. Huh, it really did seem true, then. Usually, such sayings made her think it was all a load of rubbish, and so she turned her behind to it. Perhaps it wasn't? Well, it certainly proved not to be at the current moment.
Why as he so bloody relaxed for? It made the hairs on her back stand on end and a low, silent growl ripple lightly through her throat. She felt herself saying 'how dare he', but that didn't make much sense. Was she loosing it? Was everyone loosing it? Maybe. Because that was when she saw it. It ran incredibly fast, her eyes only just got a snap of it, one single vision. Was it possible that she'd simply imagined it? At all? No, it was so real, so... so not made-up. It just could not be.
A strange form of cat - lean. A part of her thought it was starved at how little flesh there seemed to be on the bones, but its muscles had been pumping so very strongly, its eyes light and healthy. Takiri was pretty sure she'd seen an indication that it was a he, which it was. He had a tail about three quarters the size it should be on a lion in any case, which was fathered and hairy. His head had longer hairs sprouting from the forehead, which created the image of his skull being on fire.
The mikashi was never before spotted by her, or any of those back at the pride. It made her afraid... there had been a strange new scent in the air, growing stronger each day, and she had a feeling it was that... that thing that had sped right past her which was spreading this smell. Suddenly, it seemed to repulse her.
The sound of Kamau's haunch hitting the ground made her slowly come back to reality, and as she moved her joints she could feel them creaking. She'd been stock still, staring into the oddly green grass straight ahead, where she'd seen it. And then she noticed her jaw was hanging limply.
"What was that?" She asked dumbly, regardless she'd been the only one looking in that direction, regardless how far away it had been, regardless how absurd ti was that she'd been seeing things that weren't there... couldn't have been there.

His golden gems glared furiously at the young adolecent, his laughs bothering the male even though they weren't meant directly to Azizi. He knew inside Kamau's mind that he was chuckling at the large beast, how Azizi believes he could run a pride with both paws tied behind his back. Even though the male is too confident about holding a perfect family, this did prove to be useful in times, but not in times like these.
The smaller one was right.
A simple snort was his only response to his words, Azizi's proud smirk disappearing as he turned his head away from the other lions. He didn't want his strong impression, though it didn't stay on the two(but Azizi thinks they fear him), to be put down by a measly, little punk, but he had to hide his failure of not able to verbally fight back at the Kamau. His feline lips curled back as he growled harshly, but silent enough for only the two to hear.
His black tipped ears perked to Takiri as she spoke, his gems blinking a couple times before he looked around. All he saw was long fields of brown, green, and yellow grasses which where glowing magnificently from the afternoon sunshine. As he cleared his deep throat, he stood uneasy, the ess' words frighten him abit. "What do you mean, Takiri?"

Kamau was shaken lightly, though his eyes were never astray from the male. Trust no one... those annoying words his father taught him were embeded into his mind but he found it too hard not to rid himself of them. He didn't trust, but he put himself at ease. He trusted his brother, because he loved him with his heart. Everyone else... he just didn't trust.
Especially this male was no different. He did not know him, nor had he ever met him before today. Takiri... was that this intelligent lioness? Did she even introduce herself? He couldn't quite remember. But if that was the case, and then he should introduce himself. "Kamau." he gave briefly.
Auditives slowly flattened against his skull as he recalled that odd cat Takiri had pointed out. Thin tail slowly tucked around his form, though not tightly tucked, loosely. "I've seen them once before, but I doubt they are a troublesome threat to us. Troubles only matter if they detour one from their goal."
The first reply was somewhat muttered for his own convenience, almost reassureing himself the daily adventure was worth the prize. Two lions and a view. His gaze slowly strayed towards the barren territory, though absent mindedly. It was a beautiful sight. He stared nearly in awe as most of his other senses, with the exception of smell which was busy taking in the aromas of the area, were upon the adolescent.
Maybe he could make this his 'bachelor pad' for a while. Though he didn't really have any doubts on that subject, this lion still wanted the land to himself. Any thoughts he did have on staying here were extinguished now.
