"Bangbang... I shot you down"
A long stretch of plains, no sight of water for miles around, with water droplets hovering all over, the sun beating down... enough to make 'most anyone go crazy. Imagine being a long and lean creature, pumping your muscles, moving hot blood around your body and rising your inner temperature to unsustainable levels... pushing yourself to the limit, speeding on like a bullet shot out of a new, strong handgun... This may seem like a gift to those who need a quick escape, but not to those who have difficulty mastering it."Bangbang... You hit the ground" A small trickle of refreshing water swelled over the dry days as liquid poured from the skies far more often... but this time the humidity was not as sticky and hot as before, but rather a bit colder, a bit windier. The stream gave birth to a small river, and tingled on the tongue of a passerby as something cold, something the felines weren't as used to as before. It was weird, it was new, it wasn't what they knew."Bangbang... I shot you down" Mitaka was one of those passersby, and one of those with the 'gift'. But Mitaka was also something, half-way literally, out of this world. With his heavily-haired chest, wolf-like tail and goatee, this was no ordinary cheetah. His muscles were far more profound, his brain far more intelligent and quizzical. And the air he breathed was different.. it was... well, almost cleaner than the air here. In a weird way. But he knew why. Oh, yes, he knew why."Bangbang... You hit the ground" Mitaka was a mikashi - a futuristic version of the common African cheetah, sent back from the future for reasons he wouldn't dare speak of to anyone... not even to his achshar, his wife. Only a few knew, but that reason would reveal itself in time. First of all, he was faced with the problem of finding all the others that traveled through time. There were probably groups of two or three, meeting up, re-greeting each other, walking down this new, barren world which seemed to be home to no water or trees. See the land they came from... well, it was different.status. donewords. 351muse. Bang Bang On My Block remix - Tupaccomments. For Kiah[/blockquote][/blockquote]

The air was hot here, like everywhere else, and dry. If one wasn’t paying attention they wouldn’t notice the soft tang of moisture floating in the wind. It was tricky business finding water during the dry season, but even harder when one’s vision was blurred. Kiah was seeing through her silver eyes, trying to catch a blue dent in the earth where her thirst could be quenched. Sadly, only a fuzzy haze of tan and gold clouded the land. Water was nearby though, she could smell it. Her ears swiveled from front to back, trying to catch the small tall tale signs of a river or even a stream close at paw. The only sound that came to the spotted and striped futuristic feline was her black claws ticking against the ground as she moved.
Kiah wasn’t running fast, but instead, moved with a very soft and easy pace. She wasn’t going anywhere specific, and wasn’t in a rush. All she wanted was to find some water, which she was sure would turn up at some point being that she could smell it. Life was sort of boring at that moment; Kiah was alone with nothing to do. She couldn’t remember much about herself, but it came back in slow grasps. She knew what she was and where she came from; she knew her name and basic surviving instincts. She also knew a few things from her childhood, but nothing much after, and she saw the faces of other mikashi she might know. Kiah couldn’t remember their names though, couldn’t remember what they meant to here. Many of them only had blurry faces because of her poor sight, but she could tell the difference through smell.
It was odd, but Kiah could swear that the smell one of the faces, one of the much clearer ones, drifted to her along with the tang of moisture. Maybe he knew her too! Picking up her pace, Kiah ran much faster now over a hill, then slowed down as she got to the top. Water; there was water below her, and the smell. Flicking her ears around, Kiah got a good direction from where the other mikashi was. Squinting her eyes slightly, she could just make him out. As she grew closer, his shape took form and Kiah didn’t have to squint anymore. Flicking her tail slightly, Kiah called a greeting. Words: 398 Comments: None Other: None

"Now shit's constantly hot"
His heavy pants had slowly reduced to even, deep breaths with time given, as he lay under the shade of a thin and weak tree, only just recovering from the water-less months of the dry season. The unusually strong and cold gust of wind had helped the overheating quite a bit, too, and seemed to open up his burning throat. His eyelids then rested against supporting flesh, his amber eyes blocked out of site. he felt completely relaxed, and the only muscle that seemed to be working at that moment was his neck, keeping his head up instead of laying it on his paws. but no matter, it felt more comfortable this way than to have his backbone stretched out awkwardly."On my block" As the air settled and calmed, only soft and gentle ripples pawed lightly at his face. He sat there, listening to the silence aside from the grass blades swaying in the breeze, the crickets chirping between them; the ants scurrying feet on the soil ground and the click of their pincers around leaves and small pieces of vegetation. it was soothing and peaceful, and Mitaka let his head swim. The air was now the clouds, and his wings flapped lightly in the breeze. he bopped with each new push against the gas and he was soaring to nowhere in particular. The draft seemed to carry him, as it did a leaf on a windy day. He was light as a feather and on top of the world."Can't explain a mother's pain" He was brought back out of his dream slowly. First he was on the clouds still, now it was night and the moon had risen, as well as millions amongst millions of stars, some flying by alongside him at speeds unimaginable. Mitaka was slowly soaring higher and higher until he was in a black vacuum, with beautiful pink, green, blue and yellow galaxies surrounding him. he was moving at paces faster than anything possible, yet all around him stool still, as though he were time-traveling, or being sucked in from behind, but rushing ahead regardless, fighting. it could've turned into a nightmare there, but he began to see a bright star ahead. it was a familiar star. All the hairs on his back stood on end now, and his muscles pumped harder, trying to reach this light, this purity. And with each pace it became stronger, the feeling more real, until he was plunged to reality, on his feet, running."When her son drops" Mitaka stumbled over confusion at the sudden change of scenery, and there he was sprawled out on the floor. Lifting his head, dazed, his honeycomb eyes adjusted to the plains, and without warning he felt the burn at his throat again for a drink. How long had he been up? Turning to see over his shoulder he saw that the stream was still near, about a hundred meters away or so. That made him feel better, but something made him feel even better, and as he got more and more used to this new area, and more in touch with reality, he noticed that strong scent and feeling was still there, coming harder and closer, more desperate than ever. That was when he swiveled in his lay and was on his tip toes again, and he saw her. Kiah was sprinting ahead, her striped back creating an illusion from the side that she was traveling faster than she really was, and when Mitaka could come to terms with the situation and he grasped it all, he, too, was loping towards her. Those strong muscles pumped harder than ever, a rush of adrenaline forcing him to speed on faster than usual. He didn't slow as he neared her, either. He felt on top of the world, he could do anything. He could jump off the earth's surface and fly away if he wanted.status.
